Cherry’s Art Emporium and Custom Framing and KOKA Art Gallery, both located in downtown Carthage, are the generous underwriters for “Love Languages”. Cleo Copeland, of Joplin’s Cleo’s Picture Framing and Design, will serve as Juror of the exhibition on view through February 19th.
Joplin Regional Artists Coalition is a not-for-profit group founded in 2010. JRAC’s mission is to promote, strengthen and advocate for the visual arts and artists, art enthusiasts and patrons of the visual arts and to network visual artists to more effectively engage in cultural, economic and educational artistic activity within the Joplin region. Many Carthage artists are active members of JRAC.
Serving as a showcase for the strength and diversity of the visual arts in this region, JRAC’s Artist Registry, www.joplinrac.org, offers artwork and contact information for JRAC members.
In JRAC’s “Love Languages” Exhibition, love is the theme as a nod to February, the universal month of love. For your viewing pleasure each artwork is a unique valentine filled with joyful vitality and uplifting inspiration.
In “Love Languages” the interpretations of love are dramatically varied—hearts, and flowers; vistas and lovers; pets, passions and partners; friends, families, strangers and still more.
This collection of stunners transforms love clichés into profound statements as the art takes your breath away, invokes your love at first sight and makes you weak in the knees.
“Love Languages” is sure to please all lovers, especially lovers of art. Come, see, fall in love and be blissed!
2017 is artCentral’s Year of Love—filled with love for art, artists and art lovers. In March beloved Carthage artist, Susie Bewick, will fill our Hyde House galleries with her vibrant watercolors. April and May will showcase the diverse and accomplished works of father and daughter, Lowell and April Davis. For June, while artCentral artists display their best creations in the Annual Membership Exhibition, everyone is invited to a celebration picnic party for David’s and my nuptials. No gifts please, but donations to artCentral are most welcome!
July is artCamp. In August we’ll savor a Marion Days interlude. September will bring a Memorial Retrospective for the beautiful watercolors of beautiful Betsy Pauly followed by Michael Steddum’s remarkable “Dog Show” oil paintings in October and December. artCentral’s third annual Holiday Boutique will festively conclude our Year of Love.
