We are so excited to offer our first ever after school program! artCentral would like to open their arms to the youth. In working with the K. D. & M. L. Steadley Trust and Carthage 365, artCentral's CAST Outreach will be offering an Afterschool Art Program! What is CAST? Carthage Art Support Team. What will “CAST Outreach" do? We will be reaching out and offering opportunities for our youth to participate in more art classes then ever before in Carthage, MO. We have coordinated with the YMCA and Carthage R9 art teachers to create a program which will be offered afterschool, one day a week. We have the facility to house 25 to 30 youth. We will be providing a platform for young budding artists to hone in on their cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. Our learning environment is designed to cater to diverse artistic interests, and improve motivation, concentration, confidence, and teamwork all the while nurturing creativity and opportunities to explore various art forms with limited resources. Our curriculum will go beyond the regular education art techniques. We will be providing an enriching and broader range of applications and concepts, including visual literacy, different types of art and design careers, wildlife and habitat conservation, and cultural diversity. All the while assisting in developing critical thinking skills and challenging students to use these techniques to solve real-world problems. *Limited spaces available! This program is geared for ages 5 to 14. We are a small facility, only allowing us to the ability to accept the maximum of 20 students ages 5-10 and 9 students ages 11-14. This program will be offered every Tuesday at 3:00 pm (after school) with pick up no later than 5:30. The location will be at the YMCA's Youth Activity Center (400 S Maple Street). The cost of the program is $10 per student, per week. With our collaboration with the YMCA, an after-school snack as well as dinner will also be served to each student every Tuesday for no additional fee! Because of the K. D. & M. L.
